Truth. You can now connect to servers but expect to get ~5 fps. You can "fix" this by disabling lighting effect. Open a console and type
r_mode albedo
This changes the render mode and makes the game looks like NS1, but it moved me from 5 fps to ~20. This is on an integrated gpu btw

Griefed. I understand why they did their own engine but have to hate them for that. Why not just made a fucking HL2 mod, I'd payed the same or twice for it. HL2 engine is good, old, easy to license and cheap. But no, they have to attempt to developing this piece of shit. It will be a good low budget scifi rendering movie engine but not a fucking online game. Fall 2012, minimum.

Looks like they're releasing build 152 sometime this week (finally). There's a pretty massive changelog found here.

Maybe this game will be ready this decade after all.

Waiting on BV153 as BV152 tripled the CPU usage.

BV154 is out, and Beta opens tomorrow, + fade.
Still pretty rough around the edges, but at the current pace there will be an actual game to play sometime next spring. I expect actual retail release next October.

This thread title is such a tease when you haven't been keeping up with NS2.

I tried to play tonight, randomly ran into thresh. I could play it was just pure lag on my end, I couldn't even span in compared to the previous build before the beta. Then again I am in Korea.
