10 years - wasteland and new single Beautiful.

I found their first signed album (The Autumn Effect) to be relatively disappointing. Their single was ok, as was the title song for the album, but the rest of it was just kinda generic alternative. Their new single, Beautiful, sounds like Breaking Benjamin and 30 seconds to mars had a baby and its name is 10 years. Since I'm not huge on either of those 2 bands, I'll most likely pass on their new album.

Went CD shopping, bought new music, sharing with you guys.

Era Vulgaris - Queens of the Stone Age

Samples:
Into the Hollow.mp3
Turnin' On The Screw.mp3

New Band/Side Project.
Ashes Divide

Ashes Divide is the brain child of A Perfect Circle's guitarist Billy Howerdel who was really primarily responsible for most of A Perfect Circles music prior to emotive/amotive. Ashes Divide is his new side project/band while A Perfect Circle is on an indeffinate hiatus. Billy plays nearly all the instruments on the album along with serving as lead vocals with John Freese on Drums and Maynard's son, Devo Keenan, on the cello...? The album as a whole is relatively disappointing with a few songs that shine above the rest. I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you're really a big A Perfect Circle fan.

My 2 favorite songs off the album.

samples:
The Stone.mp3
Sword.mp3

enjoy. (full songs, recommended right click->save target)

if this is illegal let me know and i'll just youtube them.

Yeah its not bad, it seems shorter than their other 2 albums. Possibly because it is, but some really good stuff on it. I really liked the first 2 albums, or at least the first album and the first 3/4 of the second album. This one seems good with an empty patch here and there. I'm not big on Battery Acid, or Suture your Future. Everything else is at least decent or pretty good.

On ashes Divide. Its an ok album I suppose. It's deffinately not A Perfect Circle, it doesn't seem as dark or melodic. I'd say about 50% of the songs on the album are decent to good and the other 50% are generic and forgettable. A couple of times I found myself saying, wow this sounds like something the "all american rejects" or Dropping Daylight would put out. Maybe not quite that bad, but generic, poppy, and forgettable. The other songs sound APCesque, with billy's characteristic guitar and decent low octave keyboard.

I THE OLD TIME, IN THE OLD TIME IT WAS NOT A CRIME

or so they say. They are gypsy punk from Romania

They also have a song called start wearing purple which is about doing acid... They assure you that your wits and sanity will leave you, they even promise

they call me the hiphopiphotamus, my lyrics are bottomless....

They call me the Hiphopopotamus
Flows that glow like phosphorous
Poppin' off the top of this esophagus
Rockin' this metropolis
I'm not a large water-dwelling mammal
Where did you get that preposterous hypothesis?
Did Steve tell you that, perchance?
mmm
Steve.

Have you been traumatized by Skeletor's Dick?

(also: bigger, longer, and uncut)

Don't click it unless you have a massive woofer, your just wasting your time

the bass really drops at ~1:21
