Tearing IS going to occur with v-sync turned off - you're going to see it. I get it a lot too. The tearing you're seeing is why V-Sync is by default turned on.

Is it possible to get 100+ fps with v_sync on? Or does the HL engine require it off to go above 60?

Vsync caps at your monitor's refresh rate I believe.

V-Sync caps at your monitors refresh rate, hence the syncing. What it does it syncs your games fps with your monitors refresh rate. Makes it all smooth and sexy. But i believe its the nvidia drivers that have a bug that still caps it at 60, you have to do a tweak or manual set it at your refresh rate. I'm a little hazy on it since last time i used v-sync was years ago.

Worm, the splitter doesn't do any calculation or processing. The images are displayed in real time.

Thank you locane. The triple head is an interesting piece of hardware. Do you know if it can link larger, widescreen monitors?
