Yay Internet

So the servers are back but as you guys may have noticed, the IPs have changed. Can’t be helped – moved the servers to a different provider with a different IP space so not much I can do there. All the servers are turned back up but for some reason, I can’t keep the TFC server up. Probably has something to do with the plugins but meh – nobody really plays on it anyways. Looking to run a new game so if anyone has any suggestions, head on over to the forums and let us know.

First Post!

Whew, that downtime was ugly, wasn’t it? Long story short: lost the server’s complimentary internet services and had to opt for a more commercial approach. Colocation sites aren’t cheap… Glad that’s all behind us now 😛

I’ll turn up the servers again once the billing stuff gets sorted out. Until then, welcome back!

The server may go down tonight and will be offline for anywhere from 12 to 48 hours. It’s basically being physically moved from the 11th (?) floor of the 1 Wilshire building downtown and into the 9th floor. The provider is going to be the same and so is the IP space so nothing should really change. Heads up!

Since we’re running L4D servers now (10 of them to be exact), now’s probably a good time to build up your Steam friends network and find JR regulars to play with! That’s why I’ve setup an official Steam Community group:

Jigglyroom Steam Community

What are you waiting for? Join in and whore yourself out on the latest social networking fad already! 🙂

Braaains (Again)

Quick and dirty – created a Left 4 Dead server for the hell of it:

hostname: Jigglypuff’s OFFICIAL L4D Jigglyroom!
version : 3663 secure
udp/ip  : os(Linux) type(dedicated)
map     : l4d_vs_hospital01_apartment
players : 0 humans, 0 bots (8 max) (hibernating)

Please provide feedback so we can actually get this off the ground. Have fun!

Back from the dead

Howdy all!

It’s been a while since I last checked in, hasn’t it? Well, thankfully my job’s holiday crunch period and my major project up in Seattle are both over so I’ll have a little more time to drop by. Found a cool little link I’d like to share with everyone:

10 Years of Half-Life

…guess what they thought was the #1 mod pick 🙂

Also, fixed up a few things on the back end such as the outbound email for the server (Sendmail sucks so finally replaced it) so you’ll get confirmation emails, comments approval for the site, and found post tags!

Anyways, hope all is well for ya’ll and if you have any questions or comments, as always, post them in the forums.

Wow, that was some nasty downtime. Due to a failure of the CPU/motherboard, I had to get a Dell dispatch done on the box while I was out of town. Everything is good now and seems to be running okay… /crosses fingers

Well folks, looks like the Panduck.com box died and with it, the old NS and ALL 2FORT server. It’s sitting all lonely in a data center, beeping, telling me it’s fallen and it can’t get up. I’d help it but it’s too damn far away and I don’t have time to work on it until at least next weekend. Cause of death: busted CPU fan. I’m thinking at this point, I’m not even going to bother reviving it. If there’s a strong demand for the 2fort server, I’ll bring it back up on the new server. Sure the IP will change and everyone’s going to get all pissy about updating their server lists but on the bright side, all the lag will go away. If no one really cares, I’m done with it – too much trouble. Adminning that server is like watching over a bunch of coked up 13 year olds that never goto sleep and have mommies that don’t love them… except school never gets out and the parents never come back to collect their bratty little kids. Serious limpy. Thoughts?

Based on Doc’s input, decided to give PVKII a whirl. I must say I like it. A lot. It totally lacks the pretension of most FPS games and is just plain fun. So welcome the newest addition to the Jigglyroom server family,

hostname:  Jigglypuff’s PVKII Jigglyroom!
version : 3224 secure
udp/ip  :
map     :  pvk_island at: 0 x, 0 y, 0 z
players :  23 (24 max)

Definitely an oldie but a goodie but now with prettier graphics. We used to run PVK I here at the Jigglyroom for a short period of time but unfortunately, it was adopted on the tail end of PVK’s life and died a premature death. Amazingly, like the ZP server, this one has already pulled in a crowd so what are you waiting for? Mindless swashbuckling and explosions await on PVK island!

Changed the port on the Zombie Panic! server before it becomes a pillar of the ZP community 🙂

I kept running into problems with it not binding to the right port but that was because I was running 2 instances of the TF2 server and didn’t even know it… whoops. Anyways, without further ado, here’s the updated server info:

hostname: Jigglypuff’s ZOMBIE PANIC Jigglyroom!
version : 3224 secure
udp/ip :
map : zps_subway at: 0 x, 0 y, 0 z
players : 18 (20 max)
