"In fact, what we want to show is not that you can do this with an AGEIA physx card, we want to show that we implemented a physics engine in the 10 year old half-life 1 engine.
Don't confuse AGEIA's PhysX engine with AGEIA's PhysX cards. The cards only "accelerates" the calculations of the engine. The video shows the engine itself integrated in a 10 year old game engine."

Meh, 10 years old... wow.
Doom was a break-through.
Quake was a break-through.
HL-1 was a break-through.
Have there been any recent ones? Maybe Halo?

Whatever... the fact that I see commercials for Halo on TV means it's big. I haven't seen a revolutionary new game for the PC since HL. Did I miss it?

There hasn't been one. I think the idea of a physics implementation to the HL engine might be good for another 10 years of mod development :p
Or at least until that next revolutionary game.

screw physics AND eye candy. As long as i can see all the detail necessary to play and it doesn't hurt my eyes, spend the rest of your time on intricacy and gameplay. AND PLAYTESTING OKAY??? DON'T PUT GIANT FUCKING MAPS IN A MODERATELY PACED DEATHMATCH GAME! (ala halo fucking 3).
