When was the last time a game came out on time?
Sometimes it's worth the wait, you know, like Duke Nukem, which was totally worth the wait.

I fail to see how the wailings of a drama queen are an "enthralling read."

Not to mention that's dated 2005? I can't even remember if I cared about NS in 2005.

| | | | Quote: Hello everyone!
This week we wanted to post an update on the status of the wide scale release of our engine test. If you missed the initial announcement on the mailing list, the engine test is a runnable version of the engine designed to help us tune the performance, compatibility, and networking prior to the release of the Natural Selection 2 alpha. In addition to helping us smooth out any problems, anyone that's downloaded the Spark Level Editor can see their creations in game, and aspiring mod makers can experiment with the included Lua code.
After the announcement of the engine test a month ago, we started testing with a small group of people outside the company, and (not unexpectedly) we discovered some critical issues that needed to be addressed. For the past month we've been working on improving network reliability, optimizing the Lua interface and tightening up the graphics. Now that these problems are almost resolved, we're planning on releasing the engine test to everyone that's pre-ordered (either edition) on April 9th.
Since this is a test, we expect there will be some more bumps in the road, but we know you're all excited to start exploring the world of Natural Selection 2, and we're excited to share it with you! | | | | |

April 9th... Probably Valve Time, no doubt.
Not that I can talk. No team I've ever worked with ever got anything out on time either. Tis just bloody impossible to coordinate these projects with so many things hinging on so many different folks, and all the unexpected issues that inevitably crop up.

So on a whim I pre-ordered it today, well that and I am extremely bored with my xbox out here. Unfortunately I do not have a Laptop yet that will run it. I wonder how many of you guys are still floating around in this forum....

/me floats around...
Wonder if I can play the alpha yet... I think it doesn't like my mouse or something. Last few times I tried, it'd just crash as soon as I turned the mouse more than a certain degree... Maybe the point where the mouse would normally leave the window, IDK. I could move around and turn with the keyboard just fine though.

FALL 2009
][_, (()) ][_,
It will be terrible. Already is people, laggy POS with the huge hipoly models, massive CPU procedural textures, dynamic lighting and the list goes, for not mention the amount of bugs and EA-like features for Hellen Kellers. G_G
