So basically the wireless connection in the network connections on my friends xp laptop is gone, and in it's place is a 1394 connection (which is firewire, which is funny cause it doesn't have a firewire port) I saw this same thing once on another friends desktop and iirc I wound up getting the company to send out another wireless card after getting thru all lvls of tech support (I guess that means I beat tech support)
I just wanted to huck this out there and see if anyone had any bright ideas

Disable the 1394 in the Device Manager or the BIOS? Tis not as if anyone uses those bloody things anyways.

irprops.cpl - I think... But it won't do you any good if there's no valid wireless network connection in the network properties [ncpa.cpl] (ie. it won't run).
It should only be adding 1394 connections if there be a valid 1394 adapter. If it's disabled, it may appear as said. Also try enabling/disabling the wireless adapter.
