I don't know if you guys offer support for this, but it's been getting on my nerves for a while, and heck worth the shot right?

I have been trying to get HLTV to work for a while now. I've gotten it to the point where it will show up on the server, meaning you can see it when pushing tab, and it tells me it's connected via HLSW but no one can connect to it. When i check the IP it gives my router's/local IP address which i guess would explain why they can't connect to it. How I guess what I'm asking is how to i get my HLTV to put itself outside the router/ work despite the router.

Something else that might be noteworthy: I am in the DMZ.

Use portforward.com's settings for HL1?

Hi Thoth,
Thanks for the reply, yes i' have tried forwarding the ports for HL1, TFC, and Source, I still got the same problem. Then i went as far as to put myself into the DMZ, nothing changed. And now i hooked up my internet to a standard switch and to a router from there. I have this computer hooked up to the switch and the other computers on the network using the router. So i shouldn't have anything to do with the router now, but i still get that local 192.168 IP when i ping it.

It maybe a simple matter of directing HLTV to your outside IP ( www.whatismyip.org or whatnot).

Other than that, I've no ideas, off hand, but I've had to do that when connecting to my own servers from within my own network, and the like.

This may be noobish soudning, but i have no idea how to direct HLTV to my outside IP. And no I'm not using Linux, I'm using windows XP pro SP2. Some one else is letting me remotely access their HLTV and use that for my clan's matches, so this really isn't that urgent of an issue. Thank you for all the help you guys have provided so far.

When ye startup HLTV's server console, type connect <your_external_ipaddress:server_port>
eg.
connect 72.35.235.130:27015
(and if that works, stick it in your hltv.cfg)
