I owned one? It didn't support opengl. That's my proof.

Well then you apparently fail. I've used the card to play quake 3 and quake 3 based games (all open gl btw). Not to mention bella has one and can play TFC (open gl).

TFC can be run on opengl OR direct 3d. Mine ran TFC, but it ran it via direct 3d. Any opengl only game was not compatible. Star Wars Jedi Knight and unreal tournament come to mind. Bella is most likely if not deffinately running TFC on direct3d

I don't know anything about quake, but i was under the impression it could be run on direct3d. But i find it very very hard to believe that you ran any openGL only game on a geforce mx.

I don't considering it supports open gl and all.

wellp, mine didn't. Of this I am sure.

Can hl2 even be run with 64mb video memory? I thought it required 128mb.

beryl uses open gl as well.

Then I guess my card was defective, because I am absolutely positively sure it did not support opengl.

I suppose it must have been since every geforce ever made has supported open gl (of incrementing versions of course).

Fail, i had a mx and played HL in OpenGL (because d3d support sucks and its better to run it in opengl anyways it was made for it). Also was into quake and played that in opengl also.

wellp, mine didn't. In half-life the option was completely disabled, and it wouldn't run/see any game that ran exclusively opengl. I guess it could have been the motherboard, but i doubt it.

As soon as i switched to a 9700 pro agp i could run opengl games just fine.

Nvidia has never released a GeForce card that didn't support OpenGL. They are the #1 pushers of the OpenGL standard, which is among the reasons ATI has been trying to abandon it (and only marginally supports it in their newer cards). If OpenGL didn't work for you, your card and/or drivers were defective.

You MAY be thinking of GLIDE - which the GeForce4 only supported with wrapper drivers, and was the standard for Voodoo 3D before nVidia ate them.
