hm.... that's weird.

OK, so, since you're using the console version (yay!) I'm assuming from previous posts it's all patched up.

I'm also gonna assume that you're doing things in the right directory.

There is the possibility that it's looking in a different folder for the file. I'm not sure how you pulled that off, but it's possible.

Or, it's just spewing nonsense and it actually is loading the mapcycle correctly.

One thing you could try is removing all the min/max player values and just have a list of maps. Of course, back up your other copy first. =] I doubt that's the problem, but it's worth a shot.

Do my min/max player values have to be within my slot limit?

Makes sense to me to stay with in the max players for the server.

I was reading a little about the error, and some posts came across saying to remove the min/max player from the mapcycle.txt

Well that fixed it.

Score.

Yeah, I don't use them personally since I usually setup for LAN parties, but they do work in my experience using the Steam GUI version, which is weird....

Maybe they haven't kept the console version all up-to-date?

Thanks everyone for your help, I more or less did this out of boredom, but now we have a server to pop onto every once in a while when we want to do some serious dicking around.

Today we (Anime, myslef & Scouts) jumped on and played ns_bhop where we did anything but bhop.

Changed from dyndns.org to freedns because they offer a neato automatic ip update client.
