downloading now. Looks like they bumped up the date to compete with tf2 release. Personally I have higher hopes for this than tf2.

We'll see. I'm honestly not against the removal of the grenade. While they can be used tactically, they usually aren't, and i will eliminate alot of much unwanted llama spam.

I've played it for a couple hours now. I like it so far, even a source game. Movement is tight and feels good. Kinda need to get the feel for the weapon shooting, most of the time i just dont know if i hit someone or not. But the maps are very well made, they look very nice. I had better hopes for this then tf2. Time to kill the NS and TFC server and have an FF server :D

after playing FF tonight, it's very much like TFC, only with a faster pace i'd say.

...and more importantly... Not All2Fort. ;)

Meh, I think I'm going to buy the orange box and give Valve money for the first time since 1998. *sigh*

Well, I never even did that, so I can't play Fortress Forever: my only chance for a real TFC game. :(

Go for it Thoth, Its a really good value. I am kind of looking forward to TF2 being a new game with some newer elements as opposed to just a TFC port with better graphics. I still like TFC but come on we're going on 8 years here. I would like some new gameplay.

FF seems to much like CS Source if you ask me.

Plus orange box comes with portals, ep1 and 2.

That is my complaint about FF, and I would like to see new gameplay - it does at least seem to provide some new game types and maps - however, TF2 looks like they are going for less gameplay, ie. simpler, dumb-downed version of an already fairly simplistic game for console players.

These days I want my games to be as complicated as NS and up (although I realize that's asking too much.)

How could you even say that? Movement is 10000 times better, not to mention many other elements. CSS is just one big fuck up by valve.

Yeah, just see CS 1.6, CZ, CS:S, DOD:S, and HL2:DM.....
