Grenades are 30% of the game for me for TFC.
When I learned to conc jump it was the greatest game out there.

Starting September 17th, those who pre-purchase The Orange Box via Steam can download and activate the beta release of Team Fortress 2 (TF2). This year's most anticipated online action game, TF2 delivers new game types, a signature art style powered by Valve's next generation animation technology, persistent player statistics, and more.
As a special bonus, those who pre-purchase The Orange Box via Steam will also receive a copy of Peggle Extreme. PopCap and Valve have teamed up to create a special edition of the game cited by MSNBC.com as one of the "Top 5 Most Addicting Games of All Time." This first ever collaboration is themed around content from Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Team Fortress 2 and Portal which will positively result in Extreme Fever! "
Hope you pre-ordered.

So.... I like the meet the engineer video. Probably my favorite one yet.
Who is planning on buying TF2 this week? On one hand the orange box is nice because I get episode 1 and 2 with it which I am slightly interested in playing... But I think i'd still just rather buy only tf2 and not get stuck with the extra copy of HL2 from the orange box...
what is everyone else planning on doing?

I think im going to rely on someone else preordering and me trying it off of their account. Or maybe ill just break down and buy it, even though i probably wont like it.

I cracked and bought it today. I kind of want portals and episode 1 and 2 as well, so this is a good value in my book. (That is, because valve bumped up the individual price of both TF2 and Portals to make buying them seperately more expensive than just buying this damn bundle).

Since I have to buy a whole new computer, I'm going to wait until about early Oct to buy it... Need to hear what people say about the game and what hardware people think is necessary.

Beta isn't out yet, so I wouldn't know. All I can tell ya is what ya need for most HL2 mods, and I already sent ya that.
Someone was kind enough to gather all the TF2 teaser videos in nice, 1024x768 high quality WMV's (ranging from 12-24MB). Thought I'd link em to ya'll so you can see all the little details ya miss in the youtube quality vids. (I didn't notice, for instance, that the Engineer has a frag counter sitting next to him, and some fun little gore details with the soldier vid.)

Suspect these will be the best thing about this TF2, so get em while they're hot (and while there's no frustratingly disapointing game to make you hate looking at them).
PS. Anyone else think the HWGuy's gun in the play vids looks like a barrel with some sparklers stuck in it? Hope they fix that aesthetic that before the beta.

curse them for cancelling Gray Box.
Now I've got extra copies of HL2 and HL2:Ep1. Jerks.
Portal, TF2, and Ep2 better make up for it. Or I'll just comfort myself by being an Onos. =]
