Once again, His Pinkness has restored the rightful order of the universe.

Apparently, the Zombie Panic server bit the NS server on the leg, causing it to go offline in search of brains to eat.

Zombie Panic... is it just me, or does that game lack even a fraction of the suspense NS does? I've never felt doomed in that game quite like when I can hear half a dozen skulks running around, I'm out of bullets for my lmg with maybe six pistol rounds left and a commander ignoring my requests for ammo! :P

Bah! I was asking for the opinions of people who matter. You're about as important as the plot in a porno!

Some porno plots do matter! Especially those involving aliens.

I think ZP is a decent game and it can be suspenseful at times, but you're right it does seem lackluster in comparison to NS or even the original ZP which came out years ago. There's not as much at stake as with NS so the penalty for dying isn't as severe and so not as suspenseful. But I think it has the suspenseful atmosphere down fine. I personally think the game would be alot scarier and better all around if voice chat was disabled.

The game can be fun, but it lacks enough content to hold interest for a long period of time.

Eh, the few times I've played it, I was unimpressed. It seems to me that in both NS and ZP, the gameplay centers around long periods of boredom puncuated by brief moments of terror, but the fundamental difference is that in NS, you're running around in those moments of boredom, building structures, trying to get into position for a siege or whatever. Still engaging, if not particularly enjoyable. Whereas in ZP, those long periods of boredom are you barricaded in a room with the other players, doing nothing while waiting for the zombies to inevitably show up.

It's still in beta though, I think, so maybe once they've added more it'll change my opinion. Particularly the objective based maps they intend to make.

I think the ZP and NS games are far enough apart that they shouldn’t be compared, being in entirely different genres.

NS is more of a tactical game… ZP is a mindless brain eating game. If yer in the mood for one, odds are, ye ain't in the mood for the other.

Granted, I apparently haven’t played ZP since WON – or it somehow mysteriously uninstalled itself… >_> I recall, however, liking Brain Bread better – and while that was even MORE mindless, it was at least in a similar genre – save that it’s, mostly, coop. I wouldn’t recommend hosting a BB game, however, as that bugger eats resources faster than zombies eat brains.

ZP is such a simple mod, I’m surprised it’s caused any problems. My best guess is they have some stat tracker running on an odd port.

Every time I go to the NS server it is always empty. I thought this game was popular?

I've played it on other servers other than Jiggly's and I now understand the rules and tactics, but for some reason it just doesn't call too me. Its a cool game though.
