That was not the link to the cheat, whoever edited my post, btw, the link is broken, and yes, that hack is old news, like a year ago or so but still rolling because guess what, valve anti cheat doesn't support external mods. I also was an admin time ago so please do not be anal: that shit is as far as 1 google and 2 clicks. I keep this one for the record, was taken by one of the "elite" players in the latest and last international NS show.

It makes me sad in my soul to see that so many people like to cheat.

I caught Cake's link before it went away. (That's what I was referring to with the above statment) It was a forum that was distributing hacks for various games, including NS's most popular hack "Buzzhook". I read through the threads and it turns out Buzzhook doesn't even work for NS anymore. Yay!

I don't cheat.

The only thing I do that could be considered cheating is use my gamepad that lets me jump like crazy. Oh, I also removed ambient sounds so I can hear shit. That's all though.

Huh. I've long had stopsound bound to a readily accessible key to deal with the vast majority of ambient noise, but I hadn't considered actually removing the files. Though that wouldn't help with what tends to be the biggest problem for me; chatty teammates.

I usually enjoy the conversation more than listening for skulks, but I also mute people who are too noisy.

You can't remove the files, you have to silence them. If you remove them, the game will simply repopulate them when you connect to a server.

That's what I figured, but poor wording strikes again. I really should watch that.

I just set my voice_scale down so I can hear the pitter patter of lil skulk feets over their voices.

I used to have a custom skulk viewmodel, so I wouldn't have the "why are my eyes in my mouth?" evolutionary deficiency, but I lost it on one of the patches a way back - plus it tripped the model consistency on the clan server I used to admin for back then.

I still, of course, have my custom "Hentai-Land" digesting sprite... Cuz I figure I midas well at least be looking at straight porn while I'm stuck in there. (That is one aspect of NS2 I am NOT looking forward to: Full HDR colon!)

Also, thanks for the link, Beowulf. I just finally realized why my NS got so much darker when I switched from WON to Steam. I used to have that stuff.

This is my entire sound directory, rar'ed up into a neat little archive. Just extract it to your ns directory.

Be warned, some of the sounds are modified - most notably the shotgun is bigger, louder, and more dangerous sounding.
