scouts could probably tell you who actually did it, i think he was in the room. If you check, every post by scouts, me, wormbo, and towlie is from the same IP. When you combine that with the testimony of scouts (and switch_bladez if you talk to him on steamchat), the fact that I'm not very prone to calling myself gay, and the fact that wormbo got banned for doing the same thing two weeks ago, i think there is a fairly compelling case against giving me the death penalty.

If I were to be banned because of felony crimes committed by myself, I would of been banned approximately 20 years ago. Want to know the charge? Clearly Scouts should be banned for bad grammar. Though we contract it all the time in speech, and it sounds like "would of", it's "would have".

Yeah, it's "would've," a contraction of "would have," not "would of."

I usually point that sort of thing out only when I'm deliberately trying to be an asshole, but I'm losing my taste for personal attacks these days. Must be my advanced years catching up with me.

Understood. I became a Grammar Police cadet thinking I could really help people. I had this naive, idealistic view of the job. Now, jaded and cynical, I make negative jokes here and there when grammar offenders peeve me.

I also agree about the personal attacks. I should have thought ahead to the consequences of my actions; namely that it would just elicit more attacks. Negativity begets negativity.

And bans apparently beget much whining.
