I just watched the demolition derby special for the mythbusters.

FUCKING EPIC.

God I love Mythbusters. I swear I have never loved a tv show so much in my life. I would marry it if I could.

This particular episode was awesome, because they fired a giant metal sled on rails into a red sub-compact car at 700 miles an hour.

It hit the car with so much sheer force, that in the slow motion video you can see the red dust curl up off of the end of the car as it VAPORIZES from the impact.

I laughed, really really hard, rewound it, and laughed all over again. Fucking Epic, with a capital E.

I remember when mythbusters was more than just another "When things explode: EXPLOSIONS CAUGHT ON TAPE" show.

It is Doc, that's why I watch it instead of that other lame show "crash testers" or whatever the fuck it's called on discovery. The point they were trying to prove here is that a sub compact car could potentially be mashed in between two semi trailers.

They even took it a step further and fused two 1 inch steel plates together with explosives to show exactly what it would take to fuse metal.

It sounds really stupid, but honestly - watching this show gives me a better understanding of the physics involved at these levels. Could I possibly survive a plane crash? Could I survive in a car wreck like that? The answer is generally a resounding "no", heh.

Last time I saw Mythbusters was when the guy from Ask a Ninja was on, and they were attempting to disprove various myths about ninjas.

I was not terribly impressed with the show. Although, the Ninja was funny, as always.

Thoth, you're super hard to impress. I bet if it was animated and said "ONICHAAAN" a whole bunch you'd love it to death.

I somehow doubt anime-incest porn would improve the show much - although I have to admit, if they did a show dispelling the various myths surrounding tentacle-love, I might tune in out of morbid curiosity.

Sadly, Lady X has been grinding home the realization of just how narrow my appreciation of anime truly is and, in her effort to expand my horizons, has succeeded only in narrowing them further. *sigh* Tis been awhile since I've found a nice peace of otaku artwork I could really sink my teeth into.
