THEY LIVE, THEY BOTH LIVE. heh yeah i have a PS3 and a 46 inch plasma with TW cable and on demand movies which seem to call me and take up most of my after work time.
Well that and my motherboard seems to have fried one of the ram slots so i decided to upgrade to a quad core 9400 with 4 gigs of DDR 3 ram and a 500 gig HD to go along with it. Now to save up for that Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 core 216. ill have it by next week most likely and bid adew to my outdated 8800 GTS.
hmm i think ill add the forums to my ps3 favorites but then there is the annoying typing method used by the ps3. i think ill invest in a keyboard for it. meh anyway playing Resistance: fall of man part one is hella fun in coop mode. Thinking about picking up part 2 as well after i pass part one.
So after all that buying i am short of cash for the next 2 days then i get my double pay check and im back over 2k woo. so all in all not a bad few days for me.

lol the 8800 GTS isn't outdated. For practicality sake its absolutely fine, just because its not the biggest and baddest card currently on the market doesn't mean its outdated.

6600GT ftw. And I even work in such an environment that I could get parts fpr a new build Wholesale cost.
Sad no?
Though truthfully I'm waiting for the release of DIII for my next build.

its not outdated if it runs all the latest software at the highest settings. Upgrading your hardware when the software doesn't merrit an upgrade is just a waste of money.

I play L4D on my PC from '03
-Dell Dimension 4600
-2.6ghz non-HT P4 CPU
-Radeon X800 AGP card
-2GB ValueRam
-80gb ass slow Maxtor drive (I'll bet it's 5400 RPM)
...it runs fine except for when I have to load levels - I'm always the last to join and by then, the idlebot's been running around for a bit (and oftentimes already took some damage)
Here's what you ungrateful bastards get: (for comparison and so you know where my computer budget money went)
-Dell PowerEdge 1950
-Quad Core Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5420 @ 2.50GHz
-6GB of ECC, Registered FB-DIMMs
-LSI MegaRAID Controller - Mirrored
-DRAC 5 Remote Management
...and I got this expensive bad boy a year ago!
Um, moral of this story - it's not about how big your system is, it's about how you use it! (because my old self still rocks the noobs in L4D )
/gloating
...speaking of which, I need to get more expert players on. Everyone plays in a bracket or two above their skill level and it's very frustrating. True expert players - let's get a game going!

ok so bad news, good news time.
So i buy my BFG GTX 260 Core 216 Maxcore oc card online from frys and choose to pick it up at the store.
So i go and im happy pick up the game take it home and start to unpack it.
I notice some extra stuff inside and im like well thats cool of them for giving extra shit.
Then i notice Farcry 2 and im like fucking cool now i dont have to download it.
So I open the cardboard holding the card securely in place and i take out my 8800 GTS.
I put the two cards side by side to compare the difference and the check if it will fit in my case.
I turn the card around and get ready to install it when i notce something different.
I realize SHIT ITS THE WRONG CARD.
I take a second look and realize its the BFG GTX 280 OC instead of the 260 core 216. and im like FUCKING NICE.
Then I realize wait what if they want it back and i check the box but it says BFG GTX 260.
so yeah all in all its a good fucking day wooo. free upgrade ftw.

Boohooooo.
Here I was bragging about my new pc then I read what you fuggers have, now I am sad.
I bought myself for xmas this...
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ @ 2.70GHz, 4.00 GB ram. ATI HD3850 Samsung 19'' TFT and other random things. You might say ''Thats nothing'', but I'm willing to bet it's the fastest pc in Colima, or that's what I want to believe, seeing as how people here don't get a boner when they see a shiny new video card.
