Well, I was downloading L4D last night and the fios was screaming down.

1.2 megaBYTES per second, which is exactly 10 megabits, the advertised speed. It didn't just peak there, it went there, and *stayed* there. In the image bellow, that's what the fios connection looked like the entire time.

I decided to plug in my Comcast instead and give it a go at the download.

Yeah, not so great. At least, in comparison.

To be fair though, I'm pretty sure my EMTA is boned up and I haven't gotten around to replacing it yet just because it's been working just fine.

Also please note that this graph is over a period of about a minute or so. Whatever the default Steam bandwidth monitor timer is.

The Comcast side was actually taken after the Verizon side timeline wise, that's why it lists the peak download rate as Verizon's instead of its own. I watched for a minute or two and noted the highest speed it got.

I was pegging at about 2.4 mbps downloading a game, which is the speed I am paying for. Love fios. They are working on deploying symetric 50megs up/down soon ...
