Recently I've been getting lag on the ns server. As to why, I don't know the answer. I live in Oregon and as far as I know the server hasn't switched coasts or anything but I get over 100 ping in there. I used to get around 50 - I ping fine to other west coast servers so I really don't know what the deal is. I upgraded my computer a while ago but I was still getting the same ping if not better than before the upgrade then it just went downhill after a while.

Anyone who has any advice or insights into this would be greatly appreciated because I am tired of playing on other servers.

your isp probably saw fit to add a bunch of unnecessary hops between you and the server

and are you running anything that can hog bandwith, p2p, skype, roomates etc?

Comcast, and no. I ping fine to other servers that are west except Jiggly's. I don't suddenly start downloading things when I join the server.
