The Flag Room:

Whenever I show up on a server I always pick the team that is losing. The first thing I always do is go have a look at their flag room defense, and every time I find one engineer down there trying to fend off a whole bunch of scripted, bunny-hopping creepoids by himself, while the rest of his team is either sniping, or on offensive. This always bothers me because it seems that the losing team is either collectively retarded, or they simply don't know how to use their strengths and classes effectively.

A minimum flag room defense has 2 SGs, and a maximum, effective flag room defense has 3 SGs. Deployment is simple. One SG at the top of the elevator, and one in the flag room, and the remaining set up near the entrance of the flag room. Also dispensers should be deployed in the following areas: 1 dispenser at the bottom of the elevator. 1 dispenser at the first left turn entry to the main flag room, and 1 dispenser near the entry to the flag room itself. All engineers should have the command "Detdispenser" bounded to a key for quick use. Those dispensers have a lot of power when they blow. They are totally great booby-traps.

Also it would be good to have at least 2 soldiers, or at least 1 HW near the top entry to the tunnel that leads down into the flag room. Their purpose is really not to stop the enemy, but to sap armor, and health from the enemy, so that about time the attacking forces actually reach the flag room itself, they will be quickly dispatched without real effort.

If you look at all winning teams you will find that some of the information that I mentioned is used. If they can't get the flag they can't cap, also, this can be accomplished by 1 Engineer if he is good enough, and has great skill, but most people lack this skill.

The Sniper deck:

Try to think of snipers as air power over a battlefield, which in TFC is the bridge leading into the bases. Whichever team has the best snipers usually ends up controlling the bridge, and if you control the bridge then your forces has the best chance of making it over into the enemy base and raising all kinds of hell. A good sniper picks their targets carefully. The primary targets are enemy snipers (of course) secondary targets should be reserved for heavies such as soldiers and HWs.

Medics:

A good medic is a complete terror in the Team Fortress Classics world. A good offensive medic's job is to infect the enemy team, and raise havoc. Capping the flag should be a secondary consideration, but it is possible for an offensive Medic to raise havoc, and also to cap the flag. Also a good offensive Medic should be able to take out 3 sniper targets from a single concing up from out of the water. Knowing how to do this, and do this well is skill advanced, but it is possible for anyone to learn if they take the time to practice.

Example:

There are 3 snipers on the enemy side. 1 on the top right, and 1 on the top left, and also one on either the bottom right or left. A good medic should be able to conc up, prime, and throw down destroying the sniper on the bottom of the base, prime and kill a sniper target on top left or right of the base, land, prime, and kill the remaining sniper on the left or right side of the base. Done well and this tactic briefly eliminates all opposing enemy snipers giving your team a few seconds to rush the bridge. Returning, respawned snipers now have to deal with a smack-talking, infecting medic so they will be too busy trying not to get infected and/or killed, while giving your snipers the edge, and the opportunty to control the bridge.

Join a clan for a while (STA bronze dosent count) and come back and revise your post.

**edit** lol I just checked the STA site and omg.. they actually started a 2fort league and looks like the only division left is Gold. (DW.. you wont make it on a gold team unless Gold divisoin has gone the way of the rest of the STA league has..) TFC has truly died. STA is even offering to supply a server for the Friday night llama fest that is the 2fort matches if needed. Man I remember when you could barely even join STA, let alone join and not have your own clan server, it used to be mandatory, and a HLTV server as well. What a joke. lol gg & R.I.P. TFC.

I've been in an STA Platinum clan (Before they did away with Platinum and went back to Gold as their highest ranking clans) and I think we've used a sniper only once in like the 4 years I was with them. And btw.. a medics job is to get the flag not to worry about the snipers. If you were on my team and you went for the snipers rather tah the flag, it would be your first and last match. Hell, it took me almost 2 years to get to join or even try out my clan, just because they wanted to make sure you knew how to play.

You play too much 2fort. However.. they now have a 2fart only league (ffs) so you might just fit in.

STA needs to die along with TFC, good job beating that dead horse...

I've been in 2 clans in the past with a different name, and they were good experiences, and yes TFC is rather dated. TF2 is a fun game, but I haven't devoted a lot of time to it. I've only played it for 7 hours this week. Also I just download Unreal Tournament 2004 yesterday off of Steam, so that's gonna keep me really busy for awhile.

TFC, 2fort's one of those games that I've played so much I don't have to think about it anymore, and yes I am aware that everyone knows these tactics that I've mentioned above, but I rarely see anyone implementing them, which is why I posted them.

It IS a fun map. It isn't too big, and its small enough to escape if being chased.

I know Missbella, but I don't see it being implemented very much these days. Be nice.
