Hard liquor is too harsh on my stomach. I usually don't drink more than 2 or 3 beers in a night either, but right now i am somewhat of a light weight. My tolerance is way down, but i am ok with that, i spend less money getting drunk.

I don't care for the negro modelo, but for mexican beers put me down for sol and bohemia.
I'm a pretty big fan of the shiner variations. Anyone out there try the Shiner 98. It's their annual special summer beer. Absolutely delicious Bavarian Style Amber.

Yeah I've gone through quite a few 6 packs of it. It is really good, but it still has that "shiner aftertaste." Its not a bad thing, but all of their beers seem to have it.

Has anyone tried Arrogant Bastard Ale?
I've only ever seen it sold in pints. I think it might be by the same company that makes Stone IPA. Its a reaaaally bitter dark ale with a really nice flavor and very high alcohol content. I like it when i am feeling like something extreme, but its deffinately not an every weekend thing. Plus its expensive.
It's worth buying at least once just for the bottle though.

I think I've tried it, and I think I've liked it.
Arg, I've probably tried over 80 beers.... and I now get them mixed up and can't remember the ones I've liked and didn't. (Can definitely remember my favorites, though.)

Well, I just joined this beer tasting club at one of our local bars. The goal is to try over 200 beers, if you accomplish this, you get your name/picture on a golden plate hung on the wall of awesome.
Only 3 beers count a night though. So far i have... 2 on my record D:. It's going to be awhile.

Def: I did mean Doc's initial email; oh well.
A good IPA smooths over the bitterness that normally results from adding that many hops. I actually much prefer darker beers (stouts 'n porters), but just felt IPA was underrepresented.
Also, mixed drinks are quite fun (though that could be an entirely different thread).
3 beers per night for 200 beers = 67 days = just less than 10 weeks, unless they're closed on Sundays. You can finish by the end of the year, easy.

I was going to pace it out to 3 beers a week. I don't have THAT much money to spend on alcohol. Plus my girlfriend would kill me if i went to the bar every night, i can scarcely get away with going once a week.
I also prefer stouts and porters. That or a really nice English pale ale.

pff i'm studying for 2 engineering degrees and i make it a point to almost never be sober. Nothing more fun than wiring up your robot while mildly intoxicated.

Nastro Azzurro is one of the best beers i've ever had, sometimes called Peroni.
