mine works well. Basic Samsung LCD. Passes most of above tests OK.

Only gripe is it's still VGA. I may pop some cash for a DVI someday, but I'm lazy and cheap and broke.

Well a couple of days my Sylvania 26" LCD TV decided to shit out on me. It displays the colors in like a negative, or just some fucked up alpha shit. It would go away for a bit and then come back, then it was normal for a couple days now its back to crap and it hasnt been normal since. I'm out of warranty, trying to search but no one seems to have this problem. Any ideas? I guess im looking for a replacement.

I believe you need to degauss the tube. This costs more than buying a new screen sadly :/

Maybe. I know CRT monitors have the capacity to degauss themselfs, though I've never seen a TV that could do it.

but deguassing is half the fun of a crt

I loved hitting up monitors in the comp lab, deguassing all at once.

Mine is banding when it gets near black. I've noticed that my monitors have trouble distinguishing darker colors from black a lot :\

--Locane

is your's the 2407fpw-hc? or just 2407fpw? Anyway, I am now going to be running a vanilla 2407fpw rev a04. It doesn't have nearly as bad banding.
