Obviously tf2 sucks and you shouldnt be playing it anyways. Now i updated my gfx drivers and been reacquainted with the problem of not being able to load the control panel.......sigh

Yeah, the new control panel sucks ass... You have to download another bit of resident software just to see your card's temperature under it. Sadly, going to the old one doesn't resolve my issue with TF2, but I r giving up on it, since, as ye said, tis just TF2.

I've got the Dell 2407WFP, and I don't think I could really recommend it for gaming online, if you're really competitive. I've found NS to be basically unplayable with vysnc on, and with vsync off, anything less than about 120 FPS is miserable, as it tears like mad.

Ewww... Flat screen... I gotta 26" Viewsonic CRT. I dunno what I'm gonna do when it dies, as ya just can't get these anymore - I've got two 46" flatscreens for watching movies, but I can't stand using flatscreens for puting. Problem is, the higher your FPS, the more screen tearing you get, as the more partial-frames are drawn before the monitor refreshes.

I'm at 72hz because it's the highest refresh rate it has that also works at every resolution, and I've locked it that way by making windows think it's the only resolution it can display. I can bump it up to like 150 - but I notice over 100 it starts flickerin a little, and makes me think its killing it. Even if I raise the refresh rate, though, it's still gonna tear pretty bad. (250fps/100frames+overlap)

I couldn't explain to you why it is, but I've tried playing at a variety of framerate settings with vsync off and I find that 125 tears far, far less than 100, 85, or 60.

NV Quadro FX 3500 with stereo sync in a CRT Lanix 100 mhz over Crystal3 eyewear, running an Intel dual core 1.6 G 1 GB RAM DDR; 100 FPS stable in stereo mode 800 X 600 windowed Opengl. No skill improvement but scary as hell  ... all that I need now is a joint for feeling the bites in the butt... :? and some skill drinks in order to become a pro:

Meh, well my complaint here is I went from 150fps to 250fps, and while it was annoying before, now it's just intolerable. Maybe if I turn the quality down and crank it up to 300fps it'll somehow work out? :P
