Ok, so I live in an apartment complex about a block from campus, last night there was a shooting in the complex, about 3 floors above me. 1 died, 2 wounded. So I wake up to a pounding on my door and here is the SWAT team with a K9 wanting to search the place, ah I would say I was surprised but not really, this would be the second time the SWAT team has been running around my apartment complex. Apparently an argument over a stolen PS2 was the cause for the shooting. Is that thing worth shooting 3 ppl, I mean its like what 300 bucks ugh people. Anyways thats my drama for the month.

hrmmm, three floors above you and the wanted to search the place? Unless it was LAPD and they would own you if you said no I would ask to see the warrant, or hear what probably cause they have, and when of course they have none I would have bid them good day and went back to doing whatever it was that I do

maybe they didn't have the shooter in custody building and had reason to believe he was still in the building?

What's the point in not cooperating with the police? They aren't trying to hurt you, they just want to make things safe.

People do have the right to privacy, even if they have nothing to hide. You may be willing to waive your right to privacy and let the police search your place, but not everyone feels safe allowing that, especially if there's no real reason for them to do so. What if you weren't home? Would they actually break down the door to search? I doubt it.

I could of said no, its all about consent. They can search without probably cause, I think the other two are is something is in plain view, or exigent circumstances er something like that. I think Iron would know more cause I think he was thinking about being a cop. I also didnt have anything to hide. Yes the shooting occurred at 11 PM last night, and they didn't find the guy till 11:30 this morning.
