lies.
Ya'll should delete this post, it'll give ya a virus/trojan/spyware crap. Whatever you do, DO NOT load that activex object that it says you are missing.
It's the HijackThis or Trojan.blob virus. It will put tons of shit on your computer and some of it even looks like offical windows stuff.
If you already happened to try and load it, click Here to get Adaware SE. It's free and will help remove most or all of that. It's also just a good tool to have for any spyware/malware/adware removal. Norton wont pick it up or fix it. I've tried Symantec's solution and it didnt work for me. It took me days to fix my computer after getting this virus. Adaware seemed to fix my problem. I run adaware once a week anyway just to clean up that shit because Norton dosent seem to find everything. Make sure to do a "full system scan" until you are sure everything is removed, it may take several scans. Restart your computer after each scan, meaning shut it down and restart it, dont just hit the restart button.
I'm running Windoze XP btw..
Hope this helps...

If you were infected with a Trojan.Zlob variant and all you did was run AdAware a bunch, it is highly improbable that you succeeded in actually removing the infection. You may have treated a few symptoms, but it's still in there.
I'm reluctant to give instructions since I'm not familiar with this particular infection (never had it myself), but I strongly advise you to seek out more effective treatment. You probably need some dedicated tools, HijackThis, and a lot of patience if you hope to root it out completely.
P.S. Don't be an idiot and click on spam links.

It was probably a combination of the Symantec fix and AdAware, like I said, it took days to get it fixed. I had to manually delete stuff from my registry according to the Symantec fix, delete the programs mentioned in that link I posted, and I cant even remember what else. I lost all kinds of .dll files and I believe I had to wipe my hard drive finally to fix it and then I changed my OS to Win XP. The missing .dll files were my main prob.

Wow, some people are way to desperate for porn. If you have to click on something that you know will contain spyware/trojans/pokemon, you deserve to die in a fire.

I believe his point was that there are copious amounts of porn on these here internets and that there are stores of the stuff which you can plunder without the risk of infection. Thus you would be an idiot to go after porn which you KNOW will infect you.

Now let me get this straight...
You saw, that link, in a pr0n spam ad, and you CLICKED on it!?
I think either you've been staring at your avatar too long, or you need to be banned from the internet for your own safety.
I'd send this to wasteland, but I think this is kinda indicative that we need to do something to protect our "special" folks who just click on any link they can find... Would explain why we're getting more spam, and not less.
Also think we should probably delete everything in wasteland, as people are likely clicking on those too, getting us even more spam via referrals.

Can web crawlers get in there? Us common folk are not even allowed to see that the board exists.
