Wow, that was some nasty downtime. Due to a failure of the CPU/motherboard, I had to get a Dell dispatch done on the box while I was out of town. Everything is good now and seems to be running okay… /crosses fingers

Well folks, looks like the Panduck.com box died and with it, the old NS and ALL 2FORT server. It’s sitting all lonely in a data center, beeping, telling me it’s fallen and it can’t get up. I’d help it but it’s too damn far away and I don’t have time to work on it until at least next weekend. Cause of death: busted CPU fan. I’m thinking at this point, I’m not even going to bother reviving it. If there’s a strong demand for the 2fort server, I’ll bring it back up on the new server. Sure the IP will change and everyone’s going to get all pissy about updating their server lists but on the bright side, all the lag will go away. If no one really cares, I’m done with it – too much trouble. Adminning that server is like watching over a bunch of coked up 13 year olds that never goto sleep and have mommies that don’t love them… except school never gets out and the parents never come back to collect their bratty little kids. Serious limpy. Thoughts?

Based on Doc’s input, decided to give PVKII a whirl. I must say I like it. A lot. It totally lacks the pretension of most FPS games and is just plain fun. So welcome the newest addition to the Jigglyroom server family,

hostname:  Jigglypuff’s PVKII Jigglyroom!
version : 3224 secure
udp/ip  :
map     :  pvk_island at: 0 x, 0 y, 0 z
players :  23 (24 max)

Definitely an oldie but a goodie but now with prettier graphics. We used to run PVK I here at the Jigglyroom for a short period of time but unfortunately, it was adopted on the tail end of PVK’s life and died a premature death. Amazingly, like the ZP server, this one has already pulled in a crowd so what are you waiting for? Mindless swashbuckling and explosions await on PVK island!

Changed the port on the Zombie Panic! server before it becomes a pillar of the ZP community 🙂

I kept running into problems with it not binding to the right port but that was because I was running 2 instances of the TF2 server and didn’t even know it… whoops. Anyways, without further ado, here’s the updated server info:

hostname: Jigglypuff’s ZOMBIE PANIC Jigglyroom!
version : 3224 secure
udp/ip :
map : zps_subway at: 0 x, 0 y, 0 z
players : 18 (20 max)

Figured I should run something new today so ended up installing Zombie Panic!

hostname:  Jigglypuffs ZOMBIE PANIC Jigglyroom!
version : 3224 secure
udp/ip  :
map     :  zps_town at: 0 x, 0 y, 0 z
players :  0 (20 max)

I love games that are weird, quirky, and aren’t like your normal FPS’… hence, NS. I also like co-op games and this seems to fit the bill in all the right categories. Anyways, give it a whirl and let me know what y’all think.

After years of endless whining about having a stats system, I’ve gone ahead and finally installed one. I predict that Goobag will pretty much live at the top of the NS page for all time. The TFC page however, is up for grabs 🙂

Of course, I’ve set it to only log after 5 people+ have joined so you can’t beat up on the poor defenseless bots.

A major milestone

The TF2 server finally hit capacity today! Honestly, I was beginning to have my doubts since I would almost never see the thing exceed 2-3 players at a time. Figured the um, other knockoff TF2 Jigglyroom had already cornered that market and we might have just been late to the game… guess not! Anyways, looks like we have our foot in the next-gen gaming door and I hope we can continue to grow and thrive as we have for a better part of a decade now.

Here are the folks that helped us hit this milestone:

hostname: Jigglypuff’s OFFICIAL TF2 Jigglyroom!
version : 3345 secure
udp/ip :
map : tc_hydro at: 0 x, 0 y, 0 z
players : 24 (24 max)

# userid name uniqueid connected ping loss state adr
# 372 “HaVinG
# 377 “[FN]Sakai_Hiroyuki”
# 349 “shanerobot”
# 288 “sinned”
# 307 “warbringer”
# 373 “ddrueding”
# 368 “eddo”
# 309 “refmon”
# 269 “filthjuggernaut”
# 378 “Lord Zadar”
# 330 “atm256”
# 384 “Screech”
# 379 “[UCLA]ChanClub”
# 380 “Wombat”
# 376 “Tonicgoofy”
# 355 “chadwik”
# 363 “bietdongquan”
# 382 “+}{unted+”
# 381 “Johnny on the spot”
# 340 “kyle”
# 365 “Fragner”
# 386 “omghi2u”
# 385 “ofchickens”

A quick note: One of the server’s CPUs operates at 40% capacity with this kind of load… out of 4 CPUs. We have a lot of head room 🙂

First Post!

Wow, can’t believe we’ve made it to 2008. It’s been a wild and crazy time to say the least. Not too many server ops can claim to have stayed in business for 8 straight years. None of this would have been possible without the assistance of our dedicated admin team, generous contributors, and regulars like you!

The new year brings with it several interesting additions to the Jigglyroom community – a new server, new games, and last but not least, this spiffy new site!

Here’s to 8 more years of gaming, good times, and endless bickering. 😉

Edit: Added an 18 player version of the NS server you all know and love to the new box. It can be found at neopanduck.panduck.com:27021 . It’s the exact same thing as the old NS server except the CPU hauls ass and “petal faster” should be a thing of the past. So stop bitching about the lag on the old server and GO ALREADY 🙂
